About Me

Welcome to my blog. Feel free to browse and leave me a comment.

My husband Eddie and I have been married for 38 years and have two grown children. We have recently moved to Ottawa after living in Toronto for 34 years. I have a passion for knitting, gardening and, of course, blogging.

I hope you will enjoy the many posts in my blog. It’s a fun way for me to keep a photo journal and share our lives with friends and family.

Thanks for visiting and drop by any time!

  1. Hi, Kathie–So you have become a computer whiz! It is wonderful to see your family’s pics and to see how good you and Eddie look! Slim and good looking! I have heard that you prayed for me in my illness and wanted to express how grateful I am and to give you a bit of an update. So far my recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. There are still some difficulties as I am now diabetic but the diabetic diet is a very healthy one. A lot like weight watchers. Low fat, low suger, complex carbs and most importantly portion control. I am learning how to measure food. I loved the pics of your garden. I too love gardening and now have also extensive large gardens here. In fact Roy had just removed a fair amount of sod last year. When I first came home I thought we would not be able to fill it in this year. However, it is 85% complete and other than some more globe ceders and a few more plants, it will be a working garden. I plan on sending you some pics to give you an idea of what it looks like. I will be having further surgery to remove my gall bladder and to do some “clean up” around the pancreas. I will be meeting with my surgeon on the 24th of July to discuss the results of my recent cat scan and I will give you an up date after that. I still appreciate your prayers. Every thing seems well in your life but I do pray for you and your family and please let me know if you have specific requests for prayer.
I want to share more with you about how this event has effected me and my walk with Christ. Also, I have a wonderful close relationship with my two year old grandson, Oliver (Mark’s son) and want to hear how you are all doing and it would be nice to keep in touch as both you and Eddie are in my heart. All though my illness and today even though there has been tremendous struggles, God has held me “in His grip” and I am overwhelmed often several times a day with such joy and thankfulness that I start singing or praying in the midst of what I am doing. It just catches me and the sense of His presence is hard to describe! In His love – June

  2. Kathy, you forgot to tell us you were moving. What took you to Ottawa of all places?
Did you get my email yesterday re putting Oma in a nursing home. It was one of the hardest things I have had to do.
Where and what is Jason and Irene doing these days? What is Eddie working at? What are you doing to keep busy.
I still volunteer Thursday afternoons at the Bibles For Missions Thrift Store on cash.
Dale is keeping busy with his run out to Ajax/Pickering each and every day.
Michael is at Freedom Village and loving it. He and 99 other teenagers came to Mississauga for a Christmas Concert at the Living Art Centre. It was great. He got 91.67% average his first term.
We visit him once a month at the Village. We get to spend 10 hours Saturday and Sunday with him.
Jim and Randy are about the same. We see Sean a lot as his new wife/girlfriend is my loving daughter Cheryl and she gave me a little granddaughter Ashley. Just turned 2 on the 14th of Dec.
We are very close to them. We are planning on going to see them tomorrow in Georgetown. They all live in Georgetown. Will send pics on your email.
    Love Roeli

  7. “This little computer,” said the sales clerk, “will do half of your job for you.”

Studying the machine, the senior VP said, “Fine, I'll take two.”

    Thanks

  8. Kathy,

I'm wondering if you can e-mail me. woogauaoh@aol.com

I saw your Christmas Tree hats on ravelry and your other blog. I want to make these hats for adults. I saw that you changed the size of the hats by changing size of needles. How big of a needle would you use to make it big enough for an adult? I'm worried tha making the needles bigger would make the hat too “undense.” Or would you change the number of stitches and rows? My inital thought was to use the same same size needle as the pattern calls for and add 13 more stitches and do 3 rows between the decreases. What do you think???? I am a knit by the pattern kind of girl, no experience with changing things up. Any help would be appreciated. Kathy O

Paul here. I was going through the web for some general health tips
when I came across this article. The tips are simple and easy to
follow. I used the tips for me as well as for my family. And they just
worked great. Less visits to doctor, less problems. It feels great to
know such simple steps can improve health to such an extent.
