On October 2 Eddie and I went to a Chris Tomlin concert. I was late finding out about the concert so by the time I tried to get tickets they were sold out! I was SO disappointed. Then one day while I was working at my new part time job at Salem Storehouse and six complimentary tickets were brought in for the staff and I was given two of them! And what a blessing the concert was. HERE is a link to a utube video of his latest song. The concert was a huge worship service with Chris leading the singing. We were so thankful for the tickets!
We had a great visit with our dear friends Pat and Dennis on Sept. 19 - 20. They arrived early Sat morning from Toronto and left Sunday evening. It was a packed weekend. As you can see from this video we had lots of fun trying to decide on which desserts to buy at the ByWard Market. Though we only had 2 days together we managed to get to Hogg’s Back Falls and to two yarn stores where Pat found some beautiful yarn for one of her Florida projects. We had dim sum on Saturday and after church on Sunday we had PHO. In between we ate lots of strawberries and enjoyed our desserts. P & D, I hope next time you come see us you can stay longer!
* I’m sorry to say YouTube didn’t like the Michael Buble song I selected for my video and refused to let me use it. I had to resort to one of their suggestions and chose this song based on it’s length. Bummer!
Bob and Eddie have September birthdays so we all met to celebrate in Toronto. We went to a Thai restaurant that is across the street from Irene and Gord’s new apartment. The food was great and we had a good time with the family. It was good for me to finally see their apartment too. The next day Irene and Gord met us at the ROM where we spent the afternoon checking out the Dead Sea Scrolls and walking among the dinosaur bones. We decided the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit was a bit disappointing. I guess we were all expecting more. Jason couldn’t join us at the ROM because it was Toronto International Film Festival week. He actually saw 30 movies that week! The Festival made downtown traffice very busy and around the ROM it was insane. Next year we’ll know better than to be in that area during TIFF.
