Last Saturday, June 7, Eddie and I went to see Barry Manilow at the ACC (Air Canada Center). I knew and enjoyed every song he sang. His voice is just as strong today as it was in the early seventies. He was amazing. (Am I showing my age with this? ha ha ha)
Then, if that wasn’t exciting enough we finally found and purchased a house in Ottawa! After a long and hard search the deal was signed today and we get possession on July 31. For those of you who are interested in seeing it I have put together a slide show. (Click Here) Some of the pics are from the website and some Eddie took. We have some ideas for renovating (here we go again!) so hopefully by the end of the summer I can post some before and after pictures.

Or rather it was May. May was so busy and lots of fun. We started the month with a family wedding. On May 2 the Chu family got together to celebrate Betty & Carlton’s wedding. Betty is Eddie’s cousin and lives in San Francisco. Carlton is from Hawaii and is of Japanese descent. One of the receptions was held in Toronto. What a mixed group we are. May 2 is my sister’s birthday and is now also the birthday of baby Anastasia Mitton - new baby of very good friends of ours, Kim and Steve.
The picture above was taken at a Children’s Charity Auction in Ottawa on May 5. One of the items to bid on was to have 20 Star Wars characters arrive at your party - what a cool surprise that would be. Darth and friends mingled with the crowd and did a fair amount of posing. On May 10 Eddie, Jason and I went to London, Ontario, for the day to cheer Gordon on at his soccer game. He plays on a Scottish team and this was their first game of the season. They were escorted onto the field with a bagpiper. After the game we all went out for dinner and had a nice visit with Christina and Tom.
The following weekend we celebrated two more birthdays. This time it was our daughter Irene whose birthday is May 13 and Eddie’s sister Alice on May 19. (This was a big one for Alice.) Nephew Donald was here from down under (Sydney) for a medical conference and was able to attend. It was our first and last family party here at the condo. In the midst of all this May activity, we sold our condo ! ! We listed on Tuesday, May 20 and took offers the following Monday. We had four offers and got more than our asking price. Our next big step is to find the right place to move to in Ottawa. We’re working hard at this and I go on house hunting trips there as often as I can.
So that’s our month of May. I made a slide show with some highlights of the month. If you click here you can view it.
