No Excuse
There really isn’t a good excuse for my not updating my blog in January. Not even the fact that we are still putting things away from our move, that I’ve been knitting a bit or that my home computer isn’t working properly. There’s just NO Excuse. I made updating my blog a NY resolution and I’m off to a lousy start. I MUST get back on track or else shut down my sites.
So - now that I have confessed here’s a look at our month of January:
We had a great visit with friends Scott, April and Graham. We watched Graham’s hockey game and then went back to their house for a fun visit. Graham’s Auntie was there and helped pull out his front tooth! Take a close look . . .
Then at church one Sunday the kids in Sunday School were able to spend their “kids bucks”. My friend Alex bought a sheet of ladybug stickers just for me. I promised him I would put this picture on my blog and he was very excited. Thanks for the stickers, Alex!
And at the end of the month I had a “Meli day”. Melanie’s parents had an appointment for Jacob and I asked if I could watch Meli for them. We had a ball. We went up and down the halls and stairs of our condo, rode the elevator, walked to the pool and then came back for some lunch and some crafts. Here we are posing together - that’s me and little angel Meli. Don’t you love the wings?
Our lives are so full - so many friends of all ages. Many of you know Eddie accepted a job that requires us to relocate to another city. The thought of leaving so many dear friends is at times unbearable. However, I read some wonderful words this morning which brought peace to my heart. They are from a devotional book by Ruth Myers. She writes these words as praise to God and I make them my own prayer: Thank you that I can safely commit my location and situation to You. I can be willing for You to shift me anywhere on life’s checkerboard, or bury me anywhere in life’s garden, gladly yielding myself for You to please Yourself with, anywhere and any way You choose. Thank You that I can trust You with my future places-ready to go, ready to stay.
I’ll keep you “posted” on our move. I have some photos to share with you from our Chinese NY celebrations so keep checking.
