I’m Back ! ! !
I haven’t updated my blog for several months but it’s the start of a new year and I’m back! I have a very good reason for being away. After purchasing a condo in August our lives have been out of control with making renos to our home in order to sell and then to the condo. We moved to the condo on October 30 and are still busy putting our things away and making it our home. This would not have been possible without the help of so many dear friends and family members. There are not enough words to express our gratitude. Many of you went the extra mile with us and we will never forget it. In fact, if you click HERE, you can see just how much work we’ve done both to the house and the condo and how many special people helped us. There are still more of you that got away without having your picture taken and we thank you too.
Our move was a stressful and exhausting experience. We thought once October 30 arrived and we moved here things would get better - but we were wrong. On the night of our move there was a leak from a shut-off valve in one of our bathrooms. This caused water to pour out and ruin an area of our 3-day old floor and part of the carpet in our bedroom. This was our first ever insurance claim. It took 6 weeks to get everything replaced and this delayed our unpacking. And, that’s not all. We had to have 4 (four!) refrigerators delivered because they were all damaged. For the fourth delivery Sears used a different delivery company and, unfortunately, they scratched our floors from the front door all the way to the kitchen. We are now in the process of settling with them for our damages. Add to that a few incidents with the condo management team and, well, it’s been hard slugging.
I’m thankful to say that through all this drama we have been able to maintain our sanity and enjoy the holidays. We even put up a Christmas tree! Jason, Irene and Gordon (who were very helpful through all of this) were with us for a few days and we had a wonderful time making new traditions in new surroundings.
One of my 2008 resolutions is to be more consistant with my blogging so do check the blog from time to time.
We wish you all a Happy New Year!
